Counselling for Feeling Stuck
Feeling stuck can show up as indecision, repeating familiar patterns, or no longer knowing which direction feels right. You may be functioning outwardly while feeling disconnected from your own needs, values, or sense of purpose.
You may know that something is not right without being able to say what needs to change. Life can feel paused or repetitive, with the same questions, situations, or relationship patterns returning. Decisions that once seemed straightforward may feel difficult, while familiar choices no longer seem to fit. Perhaps you have lost a sense of direction or become so accustomed to meeting other people’s expectations that your own needs are hard to recognise. Feeling stuck does not necessarily mean doing nothing; you may be busy and functioning while feeling inwardly disconnected. Counselling offers space to listen to what is happening.
Counselling offers time to reflect on experiences that may be difficult to see clearly when you are living inside them. Together, we can notice repeated patterns, explore where they may have come from, and consider the choices that feel available (or unavailable) to you. The aim is not to tell you which decision to make, but to help you hear your own responses, values, and needs more clearly.
I am particularly interested in questions of meaning and purpose: what matters to you, what gives life significance, and what may no longer feel aligned. My relational approach also considers the wider context around you, including family, intimate relationships, work, identity, culture, and social expectations. This can help us understand feeling stuck as an experience shaped by both your inner world and the relationships and circumstances in which you live.

I will not decide for you. We can reflect on the possibilities, pressures, fears, relationships, and personal values involved so that you can understand your choices more clearly.
-
Talking through recurring situations can bring attention to how you respond, what you expect from yourself, and what you may be protecting or avoiding. We can consider where these patterns developed and how they relate to your current needs.
-
Yes. Counselling can make room for questions about what matters to you, where you feel connected or disconnected, and how your relationships, identity, culture, work, and wider circumstances influence your sense of direction.
